Christmas Stocking Hanger
Easy Craft Project Makes a Great Gift

If you do not have a fireplace in your home, you may need a Christmas stocking hanger for your family’s stockings. Fortunately making a stocking hanger is an easy Christmas craft that even young or inexperienced crafters can help with.
Craft Project Time: 2-3 hours, depending on number of coats of paint
Supplies:- 1 inch thick wood cut 25 inches by 12 inches
You can cut the wood longer or shorter depending on how many stockings you will be hanging. (Pine, especially sugar pine works very well.)
- Sand paper
- Crafting paint
- Paint brush
- Drill
- Hammer
- Decorative pegs or hooks
- Vinyl stickers or stencil template, brushes and paint
- *Finish
(Optional – be sure to follow directions and keep out of reach of children)
Directions:
- Sand the wood until smooth.
- Paint the front and sides of wood and allow to dry.
- Paint the back of the wood and allow to dry.

- Repeat if wood needs another coat of paint. Allow wood to dry completely.
- Lay the vinyl stickers on the wood in the location you like.
- Gently peel the stickers up with the attached masking tape.
- Place the vinyl sticker in the correct location.

- Use a credit card to rub the sticker onto the wood.
- Remove the masking tape, leaving the sticker attached to the wood.
- Measure and mark the spots for the pegs.
- Drill a small hole in the wood for each peg. Drilling a hole first will prevent the wood from splitting when hammering in the peg.

- Hammer the peg into the wood taking care not to go all the way through the wood.
Congratulations on finishing your stocking hanger. Hang it on your wall during the Christmas season and enjoy displaying your family’s stockings.
