Essential Checklist To Get You Started

There are several hair bow making supplies that you will need for each bow you make. In addition, there are also supplies that will vary with each bow you make and each style you choose.

When preparing to make a hair bow, make sure that you first decide which style of bow you are making and which embellishments you need. It is a good idea to always have the outfit you are making the bow to match with you when choosing ribbon for your bows.

Supplies Needed For Each Bow

Ribbon wire
Fray Check
Sewing scissors (to cut the ribbon – never use to cut wire)
Scissors to cut the wire
Small glue gun
Glue stick
Small pliars (may need occasionally)

Tip: Never use your sewing scissors to cut the ribbon wire or they will dull. It is difficult to get a clean cut for your ribbon with dull scissors.

Ribbon for bow
Ribbon for center (3/8 inch wide)
Optional: Ribbon to cover the clips (3/8 inch wide)
Clips
Embellishments

Ribbon lengths

It is important to know how much ribbon to get with each bow, but the lengths will vary with each bow and with the size of bow you are making. Our hair bow projects will all have the ribbon length you will need.
